Horizontal bar charts are used to visually represent either a single variable or multiple variables across a designated time span, where the axis is flipped to show the variable's magnitude along the x-axis and the timeframe along the y-axis. To create a new chart select the variables that will be displayed on the graph. Be sure to select variables with the same units of measure.
Tip: Select variables with similar magnitudes as the axis will automatically scale to the values.
Once the component variables are selected, enter a title, timeframe, and frequency. The timeframe dropdown menu has several commonly used time periods for quick configuration. Custom timeframes, including those smaller than the current hour, can be set by selecting the "Custom" option.
The frequency in data visualization ranges from one minute to yearly intervals, representing the time between each displayed data point. Once the timeframe is selected, an appropriate frequency must be selected from the drop-down menu. Some high-frequency options will not be available if the chosen timeframe would result in too many data points displayed.
