Pie & donut charts both display how multiple variables contribute to a quantity's overall whole, showing the percentage attributed to each variable. To create a new pie chart or donut chart, select one or more variables that will make up the overall amount.
Tip: When selecting the elements that make up the chart, ensure that variables have the same unit of measure and the same aggregation type. Pie and donut charts will aggregate the data based on each component variable's aggregation, so comparing a dataset of averaged values to a dataset of summed values, for example, will not result in a useful dashboard.
Give the chart a title and select the timeframe that will be aggregated by the chart. Custom timeframes smaller than the current hour can be set by selecting the "Custom" option in the dropdown menu.
Pie and donut charts are one of the charts in ioTORQ that do not require a specific frequency setting. Instead, they aggregate data over the time period according to the chosen aggregation for each component variable. These aggregated values are then displayed as percentages of the combined total for all variables within that timeframe, providing a clear snapshot of usage distribution without needing detailed time-based intervals.
