Gauge charts are designed to convey a single variable's status or progress towards a goal in an intuitive manner. Resembling speedometers or fuel gauges, these charts provide a snapshot of whether a metric is within a desired range or target. They are effective at showing various metrics such as flow rates, performance scores, or KPIs. To create a gauge chart, a variable with a target must be selected. The target must be created prior to creation of the chart. Details on each target type can be found in the Targets overview help center article.
Give the chart a title and select the timeframe that will be aggregated by the chart. Custom timeframes smaller than the current hour can be set by selecting the "Custom" option in the dropdown menu.
Gauges are one of the chart types in ioTORQ that do not require a specific frequency setting. Instead, they aggregate data over the time period according to the aggregation setting of the chosen variable. These aggregated values are then displayed with reference to the target that was created over the timeframe chosen.
The color settings and values covered by the gauge can be controlled through the color selection widget on the variable's Target editor. These color ranges will override any default settings on the gauge.
