Enabling Multifactor Authentication

Enabling Multifactor Authentication (MFA) in ioTORQ EMIS enhances account security by requiring verification through an authenticator app. This ensures that only authorized users can access the system.

Steps to Enabling Multifactor Authentication

1. On a mobile device, download an authenticator app. We recommend using Microsoft Authenticator.

2. Login to ioTORQ EMIS.

3. Navigate to your Account Security.

4. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.

4. Proceed to the next step.

5. Follow the instructions to configure authentication through your chosen authenticator app.

Backup Codes

After enabling MFA/2FA, any future login will require a second authentication through your authenticator app. Note however, there is an additional option to generate Backup Codes in the scenario you do not have your device with you:

1. Navigate to your Account Security.

2. Click Show Codes.

3. Click Generate Tokens.

4. The displayed tokens can be used as an alternative to your authenticator app. Note that tokens can only be used once.
