What are Organizations?
Organizations make up the folder structure that holds variables and dashboards. Organizations are divided into customizable folders, allowing you to group your data by facility, asset, area, production line, resource type, and more.
The list of organizations in your ioTORQ deployment can be found from the left-hand navigation bar via the Organizations menu. From this view, you can see details of each organization and edit, delete, or create new organizations.
ioTORQ's organization design provides a top-level node which represents the root of the tree structure. From this parent node, you can create new organizations to form the logical divisions you require.
Creating organizations
To create a new organization to store dashboards and variables, hover over the Organizations section of the left-hand navigation bar and select New Organization.
New organizations must be created within existing organizations. There are several key parameters to define when creating a new organization.
- The Parent sets which folder or sub-folder the new organization will belong to. Scroll to find the current organization that will become the parent folder for the new organization.
- The Name of the organization will be what is displayed in the right-hand navigation bar.
There are other optional fields that can provide more detail for each organization, but which are not necessary to create a new organization. These include descriptions, time zones, shift hours, and contact information. Additionally, there are a variety of icons to choose from to easily separate different organization types like buildings, production lines, geographical areas, and more.
