Data Quality Monitors help ensure the integrity of your incoming data by automatically detecting issues such as data dropouts, stationary values, or out-of-range readings. Follow the steps below to create and configure a new monitor.
1. Navigate to the Data Quality Monitor Creation Page
From the sidebar menu, click on Data Quality Assurance and then click Add Monitor.
2. Fill in Basic Information
Name (required): Enter a descriptive name for the monitor.
Description (optional): Optionally, provide additional context about what this monitor is tracking.
How often to run the monitor (required): Choose how frequently the monitor should check data (e.g., Once a Day, Every Hour).
3. Enable the Monitor
Use the toggle switch to Enable the monitor. If you are not ready for it to run, leave it Disabled.
4. Add Variables to Monitor
These are the variables the Data Quality Monitor will track for quality issues.
Use the Search variables box to find specific variables.
Optionally click Filter by Organization to narrow down variables by team or department.
Click Add Variables to select and add the variables you want this monitor to check.
Once added, you'll see a list of selected variables along with their organization and assigned frequency.
Note: A variable must have at least one of its data quality settings enabled (e.g., dropout detection, stationary value checks, out-of-range limits) for the monitor to evaluate its values. If none are enabled, the variable will be ignored by the monitor.

5. Enable Notifications (Optional)
If you'd like to receive alerts when issues are detected:
Select Yes under "Enable notifications."
Note: If notifications are enabled, you must add at least one recipient email address. Without a recipient, the monitor cannot send alerts.
You’ll be prompted to enter one or more email addresses before saving the monitor.
6. Create the Monitor
Click the Create button to save your new monitor. You can edit or disable it at any time.
